Jabu Returns To Sarawak After Heart Operation
KUCHING, July 2 (Bernama) -- Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Alfred Jabu returned to Kuching Thursday, following a heart surgery at the Intan Gleneagles Medical Center in Kuala Lumpur in May.
Jabu, accompanied by wife, Senator Puan Sri Empiang Jabu, arrived in a special aircraft and was greeted by Natural Resources and Environment Minister Datuk Dougles Uggah Embas, State Secretary Datuk Amar Wilson Baya Dandot and other members of the state cabinet.
"My condition is improving after the coronary artery bypass graft and hope to be able to carry out my duties, although I still have to rest," he told reporters when met at the Hornbill Skyways hangar here today.
Heart surgeon Dr Liew Wee Liik, who is responsible for Jabu's health, said Jabu was recovering well.
"He is strong and with high spirit, and these help speed up his recovery, but he still need enough rest before he can return to work," he added.
